Clifton adopts $59 million temporary budgets for 2026

NJ CLIFTON — Clifton City Council approves $59 million temporary budgets pending full 2026 adoption. The Council authorized $52.7 million for the general fund and $6.3 million for the Sewer Utility with approval votes of 5-0-1 on both budgets, with Councilman Gibson absent. The Council passed a resolution condemning anti-Muslim bias and pledging to work with law enforcement and schools to address hate, introduced nine ordinances for January final passage addressing parking and salary matters, awarded engineering and parking consulting contracts totaling $144,400, and accepted approximately $217,000 in grants for senior services and elderly transportation programs.
