City Council adopts 12 ordinances addressing parking, hazmat, and salaries

NJ CLIFTON — Clifton City Council passes 12 ordinances in unanimous vote on comprehensive policy changes. Mayor Raymond Grabowski presided as the council adopted amendments to handicapped parking regulations, established a municipal budget cap bank ordinance, and approved salary adjustments for Class II Special Police Officers and the Director of Public Works, with all votes passing 7-0. The council also introduced on first reading a bond ordinance for 800,000 dollars to acquire police vehicles and new regulatory frameworks for e-bikes, electric scooters, and short-term rentals.
The city recognized three employees retiring after significant service: Police Sergeant Derek Fogg (26 years), Supervisor of Public Works William Gumann (43 years), and Technical Assistant to the Construction Official Carolyn Bondonna (17 years).
