Board of Adjustment approves restaurant variances and driveway buffer

NJ CLIFTON — Clifton Zoning Board of Adjustment approves bank-to-restaurant conversion with major parking lot. The board unanimously approved Fawzi Abelgani's application to convert a vacant bank building at 1610 Main Avenue and 80 West 2nd Street into a restaurant with a new 25-space parking lot created through demolition of an adjacent residence. Conditions include maximum 1,200-square-foot customer seating, six-foot enclosed trash enclosure, landscaping buffer, and lot consolidation.
The board also unanimously approved applications for a restaurant parking lot and outdoor seating expansion at 409-413 Crooks Avenue and a driveway buffer variance at 95 Huron Avenue, with all three applications clearing variance relief after public comment raised congestion and neighborhood concerns.
